My Contributions

I first interned at Isopod Labs and then became full time after graduating from the Art Institute of Los Angeles. During my time there I worked on an unannounced title and then on Jimmie Johnson’s Racing, a Mario Kart-esque racing game. I was a Designer on the title and my contributions included:

  • Track Design: Starting with running team brainstorms and paper sketches, to building and iterating a grey-box track, to unwrapping the final design and handing off to the art team.

  • Gameplay Features: Worked with programmers to implement and tune various gameplay ideas, including;

    • New Gameplay Modes (Endurance, Time Attack, Elimination)

    • Car Attributes

    • Leveling System

    • In Race Badges

    • Weapons and Boost

    • In Race Obstacles and Traps

  • Designed UI and Menu systems

  • Created the Single Player Career mode progression and difficulty
